Banana, Raspberry and Peach Smoothie

All children will definitely love this healthy delicious banana, raspberry and peach smoothie as it is a naturally sweet fruit drink.  It takes just a few minutes to whiz up this slightly tart and thick smoothie making it a good stop-gap between meals, an easy-to-eat, brilliant breakfast or it can be serve as a delicious healthy dessert.

Bananas are high in fiber, iron and fructooligosaccharide which is a compound that can greatly help in nourishing probiotic or good bacteria in the colon. These probiotic bacterias improves the body's ability to better absorb calcium hence promoting healthier bones.

Raspberries are high in antioxidants, fiber and vitamins and yet low in saturated fats and calories.  Peaches are contains beta carotene so essential for the health of the eyes and heart.  Drinking this healthy fruit juice will help constitute to a a more optimum health.

Some kids may be fussy about consuming the raspberry pips.  To overcome this problem, blend the pips or seeds first then push the mixture through a fine sieve to remove the seeds before returning the puree to the blended banana mixture.

Juicing Recipe  

Ingredients
  • 1 large ripe peach
  • 1 small banana
  • 3/4 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • Ice cubes
  • Mineral water
Method
  1. Cut the peach into half, remove the stone or pit and roughly chop it up.
  2. Peel the banana and break into pieces.
  3. Place both the peach and banana pieces in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.  Make sure to scrape the mixture down the side of the bowl whenever necessary.
  4. Add raspberries and blend further until smooth.
  5. Pour fruit juice into 2 glasses and add mineral water to top up
  6. Add ice, decorate if desired and serve.
